Chapter 1-2 of Lost Odyssey.

Magic Republic of Uhra (Ch. 1-2)

The Great Gate

The council wishes to speak with a survivor, so upon your return to the city of Uhra, you will be asked to follow a couple of soldiers to the Council’s chamber. Before following them, there are a few items to pick up along the way. First, head to the guard tower that was near the entrance, climb it and kick the can at the top for a Seed, then head to the door the guards went to. There are 4 trash cans near the door that can be kicked to obtain 4 items (Mana Herb, Magma Fragment, Whetstone, $10). Once you’ve gathered these items, head through the doors to the Tower.

Inside the Tower

Once you enter the tower, again the guards will urge you to hurry, but there is no time limit so take your time and look for loot! On the ground level, you will bump into a man named Colin near the central elevator that will tell you about a soldier losing his helmet while on the elevator. Take the elevator up with the guards, and then ride it back to the bottom before following the guards. When you reach the bottom, you will find a part of the rigging that you can ram (on the right side of the entrance to the elevator) and the helmet will fall and be placed into your inventory. Return this helmet to Colin to receive an Antidote Brooch (can teach Kaim the Anti-Poison ability). There is also a Platinum Gauntlet that is not accessible at the moment; you have to come back to this area later. It is located at the top right side of the side elevators.  Now take the elevator back up and continue to follow the guards to the monorail but do not board it just yet. Check around the area to find 5 posters that all contain items (these are noticeable by the top right corner being partially torn down and look like they are blowing in the wind). The posters contain Antidote, $100, $10, Healing Medicine, and a Seed. Once you collect these treasures, board the monorail.

Monorail Central Station

Exiting the monorail will leave you on the second floor of the Central Station. If you look in the trash can in the upper right corner of the room you will find a Cold Water Stone. There is also an Engraved Ring on the station floor near the center just left of where you enter the area. Take the ring downstairs to the lost and found counter (on the west side of the station) and you will receive a Cure-All as a reward. There are also 2 posters here (both are near the lost and found counter) rip them down to get a Mana Herb and a Healing Medicine

Central Station Square

Continue into the Central Station Square and take notice of the black kettle looking things in the area, these contain items. They are located in the following locations: (1) Whetstone x2 – to your right after you enter, along the wall to the north side of the map. (2) Seed – in the center beside the girl sitting on the bench. (3) Angel’s Plume – on the north side of the map again, near the second building. (4) Seed – at the beginning of the third building on the north side of the map. (5) Wind Seal Leaf – near the entrance to Main Street.  (5) Gaia Breaker & Gaia Ring – near the fountain near item #2 (to the left of the girl sitting on the bench in the center by the magic taxi) *NOTE: Treasure-Hunting clue required.

Main Street

When you head into the Main Street, you will lose control of Kaim for a short time as he is lead through town to the Council’s Chambers. Sit back and enjoy the cut scene. While they round up Seth Balmore, you are free to scour the city and have a free nights rest at the Inn. Before going to the Inn however, be sure to explore the area to collect the 18 hidden treasures that are scattered around town. Also, stop into Virno’s Tavern and speak with Rinella.

Here is a quick walkthrough to locate all 18 items in Uhra: The first 4 items (Wind Seal Leaf, Magma Fragment, $100, Seed) are located on the left side of the street as you’re walking into town. They are fairly evenly spaced starting at the beginning of the first building, the end of the first building, the end of the second building, and just before the steps near the fourth building. As you climb the stairs, you will find another item (Healing Medicine) on the right side of the stairs near the end and an Antidote on the left side of the stairs across from the Healing Medicine you just obtained. As you continue down the road, there will be a small alleyway off to the left side of the road; this alleyway houses the next two items ($10, Whetstone x2). Continue down the road on the left of the road to the last two buildings before the turn to Central Station Square. At the beginning of the first building you pass you will locate a Mana Herb, and then a Seed at the beginning of the second building. Now that you’ve obtained the 10 items, make your way to Virno’s Tavern (located at the bottom of the street at the corner as the road turns) to retrieve 3 more items. As you enter the tavern, head to the bottom right corner to obtain $100 and then head upstairs to collect the last 2. There is an Aqua Bomb and a Seed in the upper area of the tavern located on the right side after the steps and around the corner in a vase near the railing. Now, head out and go to Tolsan’s Inn to collect 5 more treasures. As you enter the Inn *NOTE: Do NOT speak with the Inn keeper until you get these items*, go to the stairs and you should see a vase beside them that contains an Antidote. Now head up the first set of stairs and obtain the Seed near the back corner. Head to the top floor and turn right, then go to the end of the hall and enter the room on your left. When you go into this room, find the cabinet on the right side of the room (top of the map) to obtain $100. Now head to the room directly across the hall (has a mother and daughter in the room) to obtain an Angel’s Plume from the cabinet on your left (top of the map) and a Holy Knight’s Charm from the center of the room. Now that you have all 18 items, head down and speak with the Inn Keeper to take a much needed rest.

During your rest, Kaim will awake from a dream and instantly slip into the first of the “A Thousand Years of Dreams” called “Hanna’s Departure”. *NOTE: You can either watch it or skip it. You can access these dreams anytime by selecting it from the title screen or from the menu that appears when Kaim rests in bed*. If you wish to collect all of the dreams, there are three more to obtain after waking up and regaining control of Kaim again. Leave the Inn and head down to the Tavern again. Enter the tavern and approach the bar to unlock “A Hero’s Return”. Now exit the tavern and enter again. Head upstairs to unlock “In the Mind of a Captive”. Now exit and enter one last time and approach the father and son at the bar to unlock “A Mother Comes Home”.

With the first 4 dreams unlocked, it’s time to continue the story. Head south through town (back toward the Council’s Chambers until you run across a cut-scene. After the cut-scene, turn around and head north through town.

Residential Area

Continue out the northern exit and into the residential area. Time to collect a few more treasures (16 total for now and another one that can be obtained later). As you enter the area, there will be a poster on your right that contains $100. Continue down the road to find another poster just before the entrance to the playground that contains a Seed. Down the road a bit further there is another poster on the left side of the road that contains a Magma Fragment *NOTE: This is your third Magma Fragment and should be enough to craft the Flame Ring to earn the ‘Ring Assembler’ achievement. It is up to you if you wish to equip this ring now or continue leaving the Bruiser Ring on to inflict more damage*. Head back to the playground entrance and locate the Whetstonex3 item that is on the left side of the entrance in a can. While you’re here, speak to both women sitting on the benches to the left side of the playground to unlock another dream, “White Flowers”, and to return the Name Plate and obtain Poison Oils x2. Now follow the playground around the right side (bottom of the map) to locate another item, a Healing Medicine. *NOTE: This is where the item is that you cannot get at the moment. Come back here when you have the Sunderch Glasses to obtain the Zephyrus Spell*. Now exit the playground from the right side of the map and head to the far right of the street. Straight across from the playground exit you will locate a Wind Bomb. Continue up the street (staying to the right side) and you will come across 2 more items (Seed and Seed). On the left side of the road (directly across from the second Seed) you will find another Seed. Head down the road just a bit further (there is a building on your right, the item is at the bottom corner of the building) to locate a Cold Water Stone. Head north and into the next area (Gongora’s Mansion) to continue your treasure hunt as well as the storyline.

Gongora’s Mansion

Head up and speak to the guards to be asked to wait. Enjoy the cut-scene and then you will be asked to enter the Mansion. As you enter, take a left or right (doesn’t matter as they both will lead to the same place. As you head down the hall and around the corner you will notice a door that leads to the center of the mansion (on your left if you took the right path, and on your right if you took the left path). As you enter the room, there is a trash can in the northeastern corner (Seed) and southwestern corner (Quality Iron Sand x2) to kick. Ignore the elevator for the moment and head out the door to the north (you must run around the right side of the room to access this door) to find 4 chests waiting for you. Open these 4 chests to obtain a Flare Bomb, a Berserker’s Necklace, a Hawk Eye, and Magma Fragment x2) *NOTE: To get the fourth chest, you must step between the two left chests and grab the wooden crate. Drag it backwards to gain access to the fourth chest*. Now head back to the center room and take the elevator to initiate another cut-scene.

As you head back to town, you will run into Seth. There is a message at the Inn that will prove what she says is true. Now you must return to the Great Gate by way of either magic Taxi or the Monorail. If you’re looking to get more treasures and another dream, select the monorail. If you chose the Great Taxi, skip to the next paragraph but monorail riders read on. As you return to the monorail station, you will encounter a father and daughter sitting on a bench. This will unlock a new memory “Little Liar”, as you run by (they are on the benches of the upper floor of the monorail station). As you reach the bottom of the Great Gate Tower, run around to the back side of the floor and speak to the guard that is standing near a control panel. He will ask you to help him control the elevators and give you 3 levers to play with. To line them up in order to get the Platinum Gauntlet accessory, pull the levers in the following order: A,C,B,A,A. Now take the elevators all the way to the top and open the chest to obtain your new accessory.

Great Gate

Head out of town in order to be greeted by the shop owner (the one that was missing in town) and he will allow you to be his first customer with his new items. There really isn’t much to buy from him at the moment except some bombs and healing items. He does have the Thief’s Bracelet that gives you the ‘steal’ ability, but this can already be learned from Jansen so don’t waste your money on it. Here is a breakdown of his items:

Healing Medicine - $40 (Restore 100hp)
Mana Herb - $60 (Restore 100mp)
Antidote - $15 (Cure Poison)
Angel’s Plume - $150 (Revive Fallen Ally)
Flare Bomb - $100 (Fire Damage)
Aqua Bomb - $100 (Water Damage)
Wind Bomb - $100 (Air Damage)
Ground Bomb - $100 (Earth Damage)
Thief’s Bracelet - $250 (Steal)
Berserker Necklace - $220 (Crisis Attack Boost)
Holy Knight Charm - $220 (Crisis Defense Boost)

Now head out through the gate and continue on to the next chapter.
