October is here, time for the guys & gals to become ghost & goblins, or is it ghouls & ghosts? Regardless, the game world is full of tricks and treats right now. Big titles like Grand Theft Auto 4 are not gonna make it out this year, and everyone's jumping around development wise.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma was a teaser for Playstation fans as Tomonobu Itagaki and Team Ninja have announced Ninja Gaiden 2 will be Xbox 360 exclusive. Check out Jared Carson's profile of him in our new characters in gaming section. We really want to help make the names and faces behind the games stand out the way stars in other entertainment mediums do. Along with the characters in gaming we will also devote some of our podcasts to the subject. Check out podcast #19 to learn about SquareEnix, and how the company has come to be. Also check out one of our early podcasts that focused soley on Hironobu Sakaguchi, the man who made Final Fantasy a household name, which ties into the SquareEnix show. If you do you'll notice a night and day difference between the show's quality. That's thanks to our friend Will who donates his time and equipment each week to make our podcasts great. He also hosts the shows and keeeps us in line. He will be away for the first week of October, so our big #20 show will be pushed back a week.

Back to SquareEnix for a moment. It seems they're following Sakaguchi's porno 'stache and are moving a lot of development to the 360. Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery are already announced, and I would bet Vegas Stakes on the fact that SquareEnix's next MMORPG will be on Live. Microsoft is finally getting the heavy hitting Japanese games that they have severely needed to sell in the east. Another example of that is the great Eternal Sonata which was recently released as a 360 only title, and of course check out the review for it right here on NewGenGamers.com to see what it's all about. 360's not the only hot thing right now. The Wii is seeing solid releases like MySims now, PS3 has the Goddess of War, Heavenly Sword, and the handhelds are tough to put down right now with all of their stellar titles. Whatever gaming persuasion you're under, you can't argue with the games of '07, and it's only just begun. And for the casual and nongamers we have our Fantasy Football For Noobs feature, which will help guide both new and old players into making great moves all season long, so check that out. It's done by our resident football nut Justin, and can also be seen on NGG's sister site SlackOfAllTrades.com I imagine he's going to be strung out on Guitar Hero 3 soon, so he'll let you know what's happened in the EA/Activision/Harmonix drama.

We're going to have a new review up for almost every day in October so check in often and see what's up. We're also going to have a ton of new videos on the site, and plenty more of Ray's Retro Reviews so give them a peep. We have a new video editor named Ducky, and he has lots of cool stuff in the works. And if you want an advanced showing check out www.youtube.com/newgengamers to see the vids before they go live on the site.

My personal thanks goes to everyone currently working on the site. There's too many to give props too everyone, but everyone's great contributions make the difference. It's only gonna get better, and we hope you the viewer like what you see, because we're not gonna stop!

Your Super Friend,

Ron Whitmer
