Hello, and welcome to New Gen Gamers. As we delve into the current hardware cycle, we hope to spend time with you, and grow together.
This site was launched in January 2007 with one goal in mind, to share our enjoyment of electronic entertainment with others. This is a group and community project. We're not suits, and we're not being paid. We're friends in real life and online. Our network of contributors has grown from 7 to over 20, spanning 3 countries, and 2 continents. I like to think of our group as a band. Each member must play their part to achieve harmony. Most of us work regular jobs, or have families, but consider this our real job. We put a lot of time in to make the site the best it can be considering our resources. Time, money, and man power are always against us but we push forward. We are unbiased, unfiltered, talk straight from the heart, and shoot from the hip. Let us know how we're doing. What do you like, what do you dislike? What should we add? As I said, this is a community project so if you'd like to get involved in any way, let us know. It's also an evolution so look for more features in the future, as well as more ways to get the viewers involved. But enough about us, let's talk games! Fall is upon us, and while everyone's sad to see the sun go away, gamers know that the fun's just beginning. The incredible Bioshock just came out, and this month will see the release of Halo 3 in case you haven't heard. Lair will see retail shelves in September, and Nintendo has some big stuff on the way. Finally the fruition of these machines is coming to light. DS and PSP are hitting their stride, and the PS2 is still bumping. This holiday season will see a barrage of great titles across all consoles, so pick your fancy and have fun. Keep stopping in to NewGenGamers.com for great content. Jared Carson and I will be going to the Game Developers Conference Austin September 5-7 to meet young and old game designers, and to see what the future holds for the industry. We'll have updates from the show, and plenty to talk about when we come back. Look for reviews of Two Worlds, The Darkness, Moto GP 08, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and more throughout the month. We'll also have more game guide info for Wild Arms 5, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3, and Brave Story New Traveler. There will be new Ray's Retro Reviews, and other gameplay footage for you YouTube junkies too. We'll also have a new regular comic feature called Apple Scruffs from our friend Hawkeye Hayes. We also hope to have a newsletter and comment section added soon. Things are looking up here at New Gen Gamers, and the industry as a whole. We'll continue to provide the best content possible 7 days a week, 365 days a year so stay tuned... Your Super Friend, Ron Whitmer Senior Editor www.NewGenGamers.com
